I can hardly believe that my little man is one! But it feels like he has been with us for forever! He is a wonderful addition to our family, and we love having him in our home. We actually didn't do much for his birthday because he is one, and really what will he remember? We invited my sister and Grandma and Grandpa Clayson over for cake tonight, but Claire stayed home from church with a fever, so we just did a small family thing ourselves. Claire and Owen were so excited, that it was a lot of fun. They wrapped his present, and were more than happy to help him unwrap it as well. I made him a cupcake cake in the shape of a one, and in typical Grant fashion, he barely made a mess, and spit out most of what he put into his mouth. I was sad because I really didn't get that picture of him just digging into his cake, but really he didn't do that. I guess I should be grateful that I have less to clean up. After his cake, we all went outside and played for awhile, and enjoyed the cool weather. Happy Birthday Grant!

Claire's First Visit from the Toothfairy - yes it was serious!
Claire lost her first tooth! She was very nervous when it became loose, but with much convincing she decided that it would be great for it to come out! It was very loose when she went to school on Friday, and on her way home she pulled it out in our friends car. I was right there, and she gave a nervous/happy almost cry. She was very happy though. She informed me that we would have to put it under her bed and leave the window open for the Tooth Fairy. I don't think she quite understood. Well, we forgot to put it under her pillow Friday, and then I'm pretty sure I accidentally threw it away when I was cleaning on Saturday so she wrote a letter to the Tooth Fairy. She woke up this morning sick, but she found her money, and it brightened her day. She is now going to by a big doll (I promise the Tooth Fairy didn't leave nearly enough for anything except something at the dollar store!). She is anxiously waiting for her new tooth to come in.

Owen's Creations
I decided that this year instead of having pictures all over my fridge (which they already are!), I would take pictures of Owen's work from preschool, and then I can just toss it instead of having it clutter up the house. He was so proud of his A with ants all over it (it actually has mostly his hand print because he really liked sticking his whole hand in the ink). The other project is his apple that he painted all by himself. He is doing great in preschool, and is having so much fun meeting new friends.

He loves them too!
I had a flashback while Grant was enjoying his first peach, and I mean enjoying!! He loves fresh peaches just as much as his brother and sister. It makes me happy to have a peach tree in my backyard, even if it is a mess when I'm mowing the lawn.
Grant enjoying his first peach. Owen enjoying his first fresh peach 2 years ago at the age of 1.

When Mom Mops the Floor
Yesterday I really needed to mop the kitchen floor, but I just didn't get around to it, until after dinner. Chad was mowing the lawn, so I asked him to take Grant with him so he wasn't crawling all over. Once I was done, I realized that he had finished mowing quite awhile ago, so I looked out the window, and this is what I found. They were waiting for me to finish, and having a great conversation.

Owen's First Day of Preschool
In case you can't tell from the picture below, Owen was very excited to go to preschool. He has been looking forward to it since Claire started school, so this was a big day. He was always very excited to tell everyone that his mom is his teacher, and I think he will be a good student. He already loves school, and looks forward to going every time. We are going to have a lot of fun this year!

Eastern Idaho State Fair
Last weekend we ventured out to the Fair. We usually love to go, but missed last year because I was about to pop, and really didn't want to walk around with all those people at the fair. So, this year, we went on the first day, just so we wouldn't get to busy and miss it. We decided to take the kids to the parade first (honestly, who knew there was a parade, I didn't.). Let me just say that it was a waste of time! They cannot throw candy anymore, so that leaves the kids moving out to the middle of the road practically, trying so hard to have someone pass them a piece of candy. My kids aren't that brave, or big, so they were just sad the whole time.
We walked to the fair, and had a lot of fun. Owen loved seeing the animals, while Claire didn't seem to care - she just wanted to ride on the rides. Grant loved to watch everything, but didn't fall asleep until we were walking out of the fairgrounds. We had a lunch of yummy, overpriced fair food, and then let the kids ride a few rides before heading home. Chad and I were so tired when we got home - man kids can wear you out. We can't wait to go again next year!

Physical Education
Yesterday before Claire went to school I asked her if she had had P.E. yet. She looked at me funny, and said, "what is that?" So I explained to her that was when you got to get some exercise and play some fun games in they gym. I still don't think she got it because she looks at me at says, "No mom, we P.E. in the potty." So from now on, it is physical education in our house.
