After a crazy day (I'll explain later), we got to celebrate our Halloween. Chad couldn't make it to the trunk or treat because he was working, but we did go trick or treating to a few houses after he got home. This year Claire was a fairy, Owen was Iron Man, Grant was a horse, and Ava was a Pea in the Pod. The kids had so much fun. Grant learned to say "thank you," really well. He loved getting candy. He also learned how to say "candy." I think I hear that about 15 times a day. We hope you had a wonderful Halloween!

The Bus Driver
Chad has a new job, and the kids are sooooo excited!! He is a bus driver for the city. It is a great job, and they work well with his schedule. He already had his CDL when he applied so he only had to get his passenger endorsement. He works about 20 hours a week. He has driven at the college, but also has a route around town on Saturdays. We have been busy on Saturdays so I am looking forward to the day that we can go ride the long route. After we went trick or treating downtown we headed up to the college to ride on "daddy's bus," for our first ride. The kids had a great time, and of course I had to take a picture of Chad in uniform. The first time he put it on I laughed so hard. Doesn't he look handsome!! Now every time we see a bus around town the kids yell, "there's daddy's bus!"

Halloween Part 1
On Friday we started the Halloween festivities with the kids. My friends Emma and Jodi and I took 8 kids downtown to go trick or treating. It is always crazy and I don't like doing it but with Halloween on a Sunday, and I didn't want them to not get to trick or treat this year. We had a lot of fun, and Grant finally understood what Halloween was. He cried the minute I forced his costume on him, until he got that first piece of candy. Once they put candy in his bucket he wouldn't walk for awhile because he was so enthralled by having candy in his bucket. I finally convinced him to keep going by telling him that he would get more candy. We had a lot of fun, but an hour was enough time to spend around all of those people. Ava, Grant, Cosette, Cassidy, Claire, Ethan, Issac, and Owen

Owen's Preschool Halloween Party
Owen was so excited for his Halloween party at preschool. I think he was more excited to wear his costume because I told him he couldn't wear his costume until his party at school. There ended up being 4 Iron Men in his class of 12 kids. There were 3 red ones, and one black Iron Man. There was also a Superman, so we had a superhero convention. Owen had a lot of fun, and got to get wrapped up like a mummy by the other kids. He thought it was fun at first, but was ready for that game to be over. They played a few other games, and then they each got to decorate a cookie and eat a ton of treats.

Halloween FHE
We have enjoyed having FHE with our good friend Anjie and her daughter McKinlee. Since Chad works every evening, we decided to have a "single ladies" FHE. It has been great. It has been hard for me to always get FHE in while Chad is not home. This evening we had a lesson and then we made monsters out of Ho Ho's and candy. The kids had a lot fun, and as you can see they were very chocolately!

Clayson Family Halloween Party
Our annual Clayson family party was a lot of fun this year. We started with yummy food, and then of course the pumpkin weigh in. Chad and Stacey came, and his pumpkin weighed over 100 pounds. We weren't even close, but it was fun none the less. Claire dug right into her pumpkin this year, while Owen told me it was disgusting, and wouldn't clean it out. Luckily Colton was there, and was helping Owen clean his out. Claire made her pumpkin into a cat, and Owen wanted a scary face. This kids had a lot of fun showing off their costumes to Grandma and Grandpa and of course each other. Grant wouldn't put his costume on. I don't think he quite understands the whole costume concept yet. I'm sure on Halloween he won't mind wearing it when people give him candy.

Sisters
Claire loves having a little sister. She is constantly asking me if she can hold her. Ava used to cry each time Claire would take her because she is a little rough, but she has gotten much better, and Ava is starting to love having Claire hold her. I hope they can be good friends for a long time.

Rice Cereal
Ava has been such a good baby, that I have been waiting to feed her rice cereal. She finally started waking up at night needed to eat againk so I decided it was time for some food. She loves her food, and it is helping her to sleep through the night again. Claire can't watch Ava eat because with her weak stomach and gag reflex she almost tosses her cookies. We have had to move people around the dinner table so that there aren't any extra messes.

Pumpkin Patch
Owen and I were able to go on a preschool field trip to the local pumpkin patch. We had so much fun. The kids were so excited to go through the corn maze. I was very grateful that they had little questions that helped you figure out which way to go. After the corn maze, Owen got to pick out a pumpkin, and we got to play on the tractor and take a few pictures. We had a great time, and I can't wait to go again next year.

Our Pumpkins
We decided to move our pumpkin patch to the front of our yard in our rock wall this year. We couldn't get them to grow very big, and since I was landscaping the front yard, it was much cheaper to plant pumpkins and some squash than buy a ton of flowers. We were gone most of the summer and I would hear about was how beautiful our flowers were and how big our pumpkins were. We were so excited when we came home to see what had grown while we were gone. We were lucky enough to have 4 pumpkins grow. I think the biggest one was about 65 pounds which is great for us. My preschool kids loved to tell me all about my pumpkins that they would see each day coming into class. The kids were so happy to help pick their pumpkins this year, and can hardly wait to carve them.

Grant and Shoes
My Mr. Grant loves, loves, loves shoes. He is constantly getting frustrated when he can't walk around in my shoes, which I find quite funny. The other day we had our friends over for dinner. They have a little girl who is a little older than Grant. We were sitting around talking, and I notice that Grant is wearing these. I'm not really sure why his tongue is hanging out. He was so proud of himself. Luckily Anna was alright with the fact that he was wearing her shoes. We did have to tear them off of him when it was time for them to go.
