Purse Tag

So Shan, here is my purse. Luckily I had just cleaned out all of the receipts so I could finish up all my tax stuff.

1. My wallet. There isn't much money in it, but it keeps everything somewhat organized.

2. Receipts. I guess I didn't get them all out - oops.

3. Some lipstick - I'm honestly not sure when the last time was that I used it, but I really do like that color.

4. My gloves - a must in this windy cold area.

5. Pens - I think I collect them in my purse.

6. My $10 coupon to JcPenny. I think I will go shopping tomorrow.

7. My Checkbook - I'm not really sure why it wasn't in my wallet.

8. Finally a battery. Moms always need batteries!

Wood Choppers

I have to say that I have handy men around my house. The only way to heat our basement (have I mentioned that our house is ancient??) is with our wood stove. I can hardly wait for our furnace to go out so we can heat the basement too! :-) But, it is a good activity for Chad and Owen to do together. Usually Claire will join them but this day she helped me make dinner. Owen will watch while Chad chops the wood, and then Owen helps bring it in. I'm not sure if bringing in wood or helping start the fire is Owen's favorite thing to do!

Fear

I am not trying to complain by any means, but I feel like this is my journal, so you all get to read my feelings. If you don't want to, skip this entry. OK, here goes.

From the first day that I got pregnant, I have had weird dreams. Mostly that there were 2 babies, and not one in there. I pretty much figured that it was because I am due in September (a bad time for a teacher), and was already trying to figure out how to keep the preschool running.

Well, I got big - fast (12 weeks and I am already in my maternity clothes). My last doctor appointment I told her to just tell me everything was normal and that there is only one. Well, apparently, my uterus was measuring twice as big (2x's!!). She kept asking me if my dates were right.

So, since I am the non invasive kind of girl, I didn't have an ultrasound, I am scared to death. I have my next appointment next week, and if I'm still big, I am getting an ultrasound. You have to plan for things like this! I have been OK for awhile thinking that it was just because it was my 3rd kid, but I'm losing my positive thinking!!

Sorry you all had to read this, but I did give you a fair warning. Hopefully my fears will be for nothing and I will be blessed with one beautiful baby (but if there is 2, I guess I will be twice as blessed and twice as tired!) :-)

UGHHH!!

Lets just say that I have never been so mad at my daughter!! This morning I got the kids ready, and then went upstairs to take care of myself. I went downstairs to get them to go to preschool, when guess what I found. A brand new bottle of apple juice dumped on my family room carpet. Now, our carpet down there is not nice by any means. I think it was original to the house, and we have not yet tackled the recesses of our basement (remodeled). Coming up soon on our list, so I don't usually mind if they eat down there because the only thing they can ruin is the furniture, but a whole bottle of apple juice!! Apparently she thought it was a good idea to dump it into Owen's train, but she did not realize that it had little holes in the bottom of it (I'm sure just for this reason). So now she can't watch T.V. (unfortunately he favorite thing to do), or play the computer today, but I'm not sure that is enough. I have made her do chores, which has been so funny, and now she is cleaning the family room. Next she gets to scrub the carpet. What do you think - will she remember next time, or should I do more. I was so mad at the time that I really didn't think it all through.

Halloween already?

Claire and I had the funniest conversation the other morning. She was getting ready for the day, and had her Valentine's Day party so we were talking about it. All of a sudden she says:

Claire:"Mom, I want to be a doctor for Halloween." (How far away is that???)
ME: "OK"
Once again she has decided that Santa Claus can do anything -
Claire: "I'm going to as Santa if I can be a doctor."

I'm happy with her choice - she has even stuck with it for 2 whole days - that won't be a hard costume at all!

Valentine's Day

On Wednesday Claire had a Valentine's Day Party at preschool. I have to say that I am usually a bah hum bug when it comes to Valentine's Day parties (especially at school - all you teachers know why). Anyways, the preschool party was so much fun. They have never really had any Valentines given to them, and opening a piece of paper could never be so much fun. There were tons of "Wow's", "neat", and "cool!" It was so much fun to watch.

Claire also got a Cinderella Valentines card from Grandma and Grandpa Farmer, and carried that around with her for days, she even slept with all of her Valentines the other night (so much fun). Then yesterday she got another Valentine from Grandma and Grandpa Clayson and couldn't be happier. It is so much fun watching her explore and learn. Sometimes having a 3 year old isn't all that bad!

Well, it's no secret that I have been somewhat less productive than usual (OK really less productive!). I have tried very hard to keep up, but once Owen got sick, everything went downhill from there and I just couldn't catch up! On Sunday Chad actually had leftover roast (I think week old), leftover mashed potatoes and he had to make gravy from a mix (a Clayson sin I'm sure!). I just couldn't manage to get it together to make anyone anything. So my first big Thank You is to Heather and Aaron. Thank you for letting us watch the Super Bowl with you guys (GO GIANTS!!), and thank you for the yummy food. It was much better than our other options at home. We will come over anytime to have a party!

Of course my house has been a disaster and I just can't seem to summon up enough excitement to clean it, so on Tuesday my wonderful mother-in-law and sister-in-law Shanna came and helped clean my house. They even had me take a nap while they continued to clean and watch the kids. It looked great and now I just have to keep it up. I can't ever tell you guys how much I appreciated your help, and how much that ment to me. I appreciate everything!

Sleep Tight!

I took the bumper off of Owen's bed to wash, and just never put it back. I figured that he was big enough he didn't need it anymore! The other night I went into his room, and this is what I found.

Runny Noses, Ear Infections and SNOW!

Yes, I know it has been awhile. We really have not had that much going on around here. The weather has been windy, snowy, and cold so we don't really leave the house that much. Chad informed me that he now wants a snow blower because of all the snow he has had to shovel and reshovel this year (it's a long path to the preschool!).

Last week, Owen started getting sick, so for four days I held him. He would not let anyone else take him, and he rarely got off my lap. Most of the time he would let me sit, but on Sunday he insisted that I hold him, but stand up - we were not on good terms. I decided Sunday to take him to a clinic or something, and when I got there I couldn't find my insurance card and there were so many people we just came home, and I hoped he would get better. Well, he didn't, so Monday morning I took him to the doctor where he had a double ear infection, and a sore throat. That sure makes a mom feel bad! At least now he has medicine, and I am happy to say that today he has finally returned to his old self.

Claire also has a runny nose and cough, but luckily avoided the ear infection (I hope!). I felt like I was spending all my time with Owen that last Saturday Claire, Heather (my sister), Lilly and I all went out to lunch. She kept telling me that she wanted to go to the store with the free lunch in a bag and sit on the ground. I finally figured out that she wanted to go to the park (where in the summer they do give the kids free lunch). We went to Wingers instead. We had a lot of fun just being girls. Then we went to the mall and looked for a present for Aunt Shanna's birthday. Claire loved Claire's (ironic!), and found many lovely things she wanted to give Aunt Shanna (Shanna you'll be happy to know I didn't get many of those lovely things because they had princesses on them!) Claire did get some new princess clips for her hair, so she was very happy. Here is a great picture of Owen when he was feeling well!

Too Cute!

These conversations happened this week with Claire, and I don't want to forget them!

On Wednesday we were in preschool, and one of the girls brought her new princess lunchbag instead of a backpack. Claire was over there immediately looking at it. She finally picked it up and brought it to me:
Claire: "Mom, I want one of these."
Me: "Maybe you could ask for one for your birthday."
Claire: "No, I'll ask Santa - yeah, I'll ask Santa!"

I guess she hasn't figured out that there is quite awhile until the next Christmas.

Yesterday Claire was coloring with another friend we had over. Allison shows Claire her picture and Claire says (no joke): "Wow, that is totally awesome!" I just busted up. Where did she learn that??

President Hinckley

I have thought alot about the passing of our wonderful prophet this past week. However, I can't say that I'm sad about his passing because I know that he was greeting so lovingly into the arms of his wife and our Savior. My sister-in-law Jeanna sent us this wonderful tribute to him, which I think is fitting and sums up what a wonderful man he was. I can't help but think of the time that I was privelaged to see him at Ricks College (remember Tania). We stood outside for hours, in the cold, just to get a good seat. When he walked into the room it was all worth it! We will truly miss him, but I am so grateful to know that the church will continue on just the same.
