Throughout July I watched my friends 4 kids for a few hours a day while she taught summer school. I wanted the older to kids to play outside because it was during nap time, and the weather was so nice. I had to get a little creative. They thought I was somewhat crazy when I brought out the shaving cream, but it didn't take them long to have a lot of fun and get messy.

24th of July Parade
Every 24th of July the 3 area stakes have a huge Pioneer Day Celebration. We have missed it the last few years, and the parade is always great. We were so excited to go to the parade, and for the kids to get a bunch of candy. Grant was so funny because he would pick up one piece of candy, and then have to put it in his bag before he could get more. It was a little frustrating for him, but he wouldn't let anyone help him.

Hoogle Zoo
Tania was kind enough to agree to meet me at the zoo in Salt Lake with her kids. It was another place I have always wanted to take the kids. I was a little disappointed because I didn't think it was really that great. The kids had fun except it was soooo hot. We took the kids to a bird show, it was really good. The birds were well trained, and it was neat to watch them do some tricks. It was a little tricky with 2 adults and 8 kids, but the kids were great. Owen was thrilled because they had fake dinosaurs all throughout the zoo. Grant was a little scared of them, but loved the giraffes. Right after the zoo I loaded the kids in the car hoping for a nice quiet ride home. It didn't last long, but it was great to finally make it home.

Temple Square
I decided to take the kids to Utah with me to visit my good friend Tania. We went a day early so that I could take them to visit Temple Square. They have never been there, and I thought it was time they visit it. The kids were really good except when we went up to see the statue of Jesus. Grant was freaked out. I had to carry him and Ava up the ramp and he was screaming. We didn't last very long, but the other kids thought it was really neat. Some of the sister missionaries took a liking to the kids and took us to see a neat movie. The kids were so good, and I was so proud of them. The kids loved all the statues. After about 2 hours, we were done and it was time to go cool off. I am so glad that we got to go and hopefully next time we will go with their dad.

T-Ball
We spent MANY days in July going to Owen's T-Ball games. He was so excited to play T-Ball, and he did a great job. He learned so much, and it was fun to watch him. He still loves to talk to people, my little "politician." He would be on a base and then stop paying attention to talk to the other team member. He always knew what their team name was when the game was over. I'm not sure what sport he will end up loving, but for now he loves playing everything.
| Don't you love the hats. They didn't have any that fit him. |
