10 Months Old

Grant is 10 months old, and so much fun. He loves to talk, but of course it is very loud, and usually during something he should be quiet for. He still has no desire to crawl, walk, or basically move besides his arms, but I always know where he will be! He absolutely loves Baby Einstein, Baby McDonald. It will calm him down every time. He has 4.5 teeth - 4 that have come in, and 2 that are almost there. His favorite toy has to be anything that makes lots of noise, and he still loves, loves, loves to jump. And even though people think I'm crazy, I swear that he says "hi." I probably am crazy!!

The Difference Between a Man and Woman!

I was teaching a lesson in Young Women's about your life being fragile, so I decided that they needed eggs to prove my point. So, I got out the old needle and started working on my project - this was not an easy task, but I was determined!!

First of all, using a needle was to hard, so he gets out the drill.
Then of course why use your mouth when you can use the air compressor - I was a little skeptical about this one, but it actually worked, and he saved me a lot of energy and pain!

Cherry Pickers

We have lived in our house for over 3 years, and have never had a chance to enjoy the cherries off of our tree. Usually the birds and squirrel ls just stanch them right up before we know it, they are all gone! This year we were sitting at dinner one Sunday afternoon and I noticed there were still a large amount of cherries on the tree, so out we went. The kids loved picking cherries. Claire especially enjoyed climbing the ladder, while Owen loved that he could stand on the pick-up. Claire loved it so much that the next day she was more than willing to help some friends who came over to get some. We got plenty of cherries, although they were not quite ripe, they were delicious. It was a fun activity for everyone!

Our New Home

OK, so we aren't going to live in this, but our friend Dave's dad owned this house until last week, when he sold it to Dave and Chad. Yes, we bought it. We aren't going to be out any money because the price was super cheap, but the thought of fixing this place up makes me a little weak in the knees. I think we should just knock it down and build a new house, but pretty much it will be gutted and fixed up so we can sell it. Hopefully by next summer. So for now we will keep the renter in there and pray that he doesn't decide to move, and then fix it up next spring.

Happy 4th of July

We had a great 4th of July!! Unfortunately I forgot my camera, so the picture amount is quite small!! We left early and made it to Chads parents' house at 7:00 a.m. We helped get ready for their annual breakfast which had Chad cooking eggs and the girls chasing the kids around. The food was great, and it is always fun to help. After breakfast, and my small nap, we sat outside, and played and talked. The kids had a great time jumping on the trampoline and swinging. After lunch we got out our "redneck" slip and slide (it consisted of a big white tarp, a sprinkler and ski polls as anchors). We had a great time. Claire was very brave, and went crazy on it. I did it, but was so scared of hurting myself, I didn't put much into it. Chad was so funny to watch, and by the end Chad and his brother were attempting different tricks. After dinner we headed back to our house. We had intended to watch the city fireworks with some friends, but Claire was so tired, that she went straight to bed, so we went across the street and watched our friends shoot off a few, and then attempted to watch the fireworks from our backyard. We could see most of them, but there were just a few to many trees in the way. We had a wonderful 4th of July - Happy Birthday America!!

Catch Up!!

I promise I am trying to catch up!! I have finished up May (just scroll down a bit), and there will be more to come soon. I have so much to post it might take awhile!

Slippery Slide and Friends

We were so happy to see the warm weather finally come. We are so sick of the rain, and ready to begin the lazy, crazy days of summer. The kids love the slippery slide as they call it. We decided this week to put it on the hill in our backyard. They thought it was great. I think they played on it every day, and we had plenty of friends over this week to enjoy it with. Claire is a die hard, and isn't scared of anything, but with Owen we practically have to turn the water off, and then he will slide down on his stomach. It is actually quite funny to watch. We just hope that the warm weather sticks around for awhile because we have really enjoyed playing outside.
